Grace Kelly was one of my favorite actresses as well as one of the highest paid and respected actresses. She met Prince Rainier in 1955 during a photo shoot and soon after became Rainier's bride and princess. She was never to act in film again as he forbade her to and made her give up her U.S. Citizenship. Her death was tragic as she was a beautiful and kind person that left this world too soon. She was very involved in many cultural and charitable organizations over the course of her life. At the age of only 52 she had a stroke while driving along a steep cliff in France and plunged down an embankment. Her daughter survived the crash. Princess Grace will be missed but the actress will live long in our hearts through her films.

Information about Monaco

Monaco is a principality governed under a form of constitutional monarchy, with Prince Albert II as head of state. Although Prince Albert II is a constitutional monarch, he wields immense political power. The House of Grimaldi have ruled Monaco, with brief interruptions, since 1297. The official language is French, but Italian and English are widely spoken and understood. The state's sovereignty was officially recognized by the Franco-Monegasque Treaty of 1861, with Monaco becoming a full United Nations voting member in 1993. Despite Monaco's independence and separate foreign policy, its defense is the responsibility of France. However, Monaco does maintain two small military units.

Monaco's Economic development was spurred in the late 19th century with the opening of its first casino, Monte Carlo, and a railway connection to Paris. Since then, mild climate, splendid scenery, and gambling facilities of Monaco have contributed to it's status as a premier tourist destination and recreation center for the rich and famous. However, in more recent years Monaco has become a major banking center and has successfully sought to diversify its economy into the services and small, high value added non-polluting industries. Monaco has no income tax, low business taxes, and is well known for being a tax haven.

Monaco is not formally a part of the European Union (EU), but it participates in certain EU policies, including customs and border controls. Through its relationship with France, the principality uses the euro as its sole currency. Monaco joined the Council of Europe in 2004. Source: wikipedia
